Forum: audio Subject: derived/generated M3U file URLs need to be URL encoded?

the M3U playlist file generated for uploaded FLAC audio tracks that have spaces and other characters in their file name which seem to need URL/percent encoding but are not (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percent-encoding ).

my item located at https://archive.org/details/in-giro--demonstrate has track names containing these types of characters and its generated M3U file https://archive.org/download/in-giro--demonstrate/in-giro--demonstrate_vbr.m3u does not have them encoded, thus the M3U playlist does not work (tested in VLC 2.2.1 and Audacious 3.7.1 on GNU+Linux) as the URLs will not resolve. for example the first item in the M3U file is "http://archive.org/download/in-giro--demonstrate/01. Some would call it Luck.mp3" but should be "http://archive.org/download/in-giro--demonstrate/01.%20Some%20would%20call%20it%20Luck.mp3".

since i cannot seem to upload my own replacement for the M3U file this might need to be fixed on the server/derive side.

thanks

delete the offending files and upload relpacements that do not have special characters. the susbsequent derive task will create new mp3 files and a new m3u.

thanks for the obvious solution and sorry for not thinking of it myself. as i had seen other file names with spaces/etc. i assumed that they were being accounted for and handled.

thanks again
